Call the hot line if you or someone you know needs help from domestic violence: 505-564-9192

Do you know someone who is being abused?

You can help.
The best thing you can do to prevent domestic violence is to be informed. The more you know about domestic violence, the easier it will be to recognize potential warning signs. Do not wait until an act of serious violence happens to get involved.

Don't gossip: Communicate with your friend if you suspect something is wrong.

Believe their story: Always listen to and believe a friend who confides in you about a violent partner.

Tell them it's not their fault: Victims of domestic violence often feel they are to blame for the violence in their relationship. Tell your friend the violence is not their fault. No one deserves to be abused.

Find help: Find out about resources in your community for victims of domestic violence. Call a hotline or visit a domestic violence shelter. Call the domestic violence hotline, 505-564-9192
